From Sea to Shining Sea!

This was such an eventful week! It was Kingdom Academy's Random Acts of Kindness week. We all picked a name of someone else in the school. Then all week we got to give them little gifts, leave little notes, do good deeds, and pray for that person. It was so much to reveal who we had at the end of the week! Besides RAK week, it was also the week of Valentines day, and we started learning about different parts of America.

Monday
We started learning about America with New York, more specifically the Statue of Liberty. When I asked the students how tall they thought the Statue of Liberty was, they decided that it was definitely taller than our classroom! It is actually 150 ft (not including the base). To illustrate this, we measured out the length of the statue in the hallway. It took about the whole hall! Then we made some crafts so we could look like the statue!

Statue of Liberties!

At the end of day, we decided to take advantage of the snow outside and make some snow ice cream! All you need to make it is a bunch of snow, milk, sugar, and vanilla. I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but it was SOOO tasty!

Tuesday
We traveled across the country on Tuesday to talk about Alaska! While holding and sucking on some ice cubes, we learned all about glaciers and animals that live in Alaska. We then drew and wrote about some different things you can find in Alaska. The most creative answer: snow monsters!

In math class, we started to learn how to tell time to the half hour. They get so excited about telling time, I love it! We finished off the day by more shoe tying practicing.

Sorry that I don't have any pictures for today. I had a dead camera!

Thursday
Thursday we had a little Valentine's celebration. We enjoyed some Valentine cookies, Valentine books, and made a Valentine craft for parents!

 Our great Valentine books
I sadly forgot pictures of the actual craft (wasn't the best picture week!) but I hope all the parents enjoyed them! They were hand prints with little hearts in them!

At the end of the day the whole school got together to tell who they had for Random Acts of Kindness. It was so exciting to who had you! I know I was surprised!
