A Full Week!

After our cut short week last week, it was nice to have a full normal week! So, here is what we did on our full week of school (plus a day).

Thursday (last week)
After President's day and then a snow day last week, we were left with one day of school. We spent our day finishing up our across America unit by learning about some unforgettable people in history. We learned about George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Betsy Ross. For reading class we read a book about America, made by US!

Monday
With the new week we also started a new unit, God's Four Seasons. On Monday we started with learning about night and day, and how the sun stays still and it's actually the earth that moves. We also classified some things you see during the day and during the night.

At the end of day we did a fun art project! All we needed was construction paper, paint, and straws; and we could blow the paint all over the page. I plan on adding streamers and hanging them all over the classroom!

Tuesday
Tuesday was all about different weathers. We took a vote what our favorite weather is and the winner was....SNOW!!! It's definitely not what I voted for, but at least someone's enjoying this weather! We then made our very own weather wheels.
We also worked some on writing our first and last names really nicely! We will be working on this for the next few weeks.

Thursday
We started talking to different seasons on Thursday and read the book Every Season by Shelly Rotner and Anne Love Woodhill. It was written in a fun poetic way, and had real photographs which made it such a pretty children's book! The students and I both enjoyed it!

Then the students wrote their own sentences about their favorite seasons, and drew pictures of them doing their favorite thing in that season.

New Things

New verse: My son, give me your heart. Proverbs 23:26

New letter combinations: long "a" and long "i"
